Upupa Venini Sculpture 410.04
Designed by Toni Zuccheri in 1964, the Upupa Venini sculpture depicts the hoopoe with dark wings, ruffled red feathers and a bright red crest adorned with gold leaf. The son of animal painter Luigi Zuccheri, the artist inherited his father's passion for animals, recurring subjects in his creations.
The sculpture is hand-crafted in Italy by the Murano master glassmakers. Each piece is numbered by year of production, and the variations between pieces, typical of the artisanal process, make it unique.
