Made with Murano glass murrine, the Serpente Venini plate belongs to the eponymous collection designed by Carlo Scarpa.
Designed by Carlo Scarpa in 1940, the Serpente Venini plate is decorated with ancient murrine forming the pattern of a coiling snake, reinterpreted in rich, contrasting colours as a symbol of the artist's style. It can be displayed on its metal stand or laid flat.
The plate is hand-crafted in Italy by the Murano master glassmakers. Each piece is numbered by year of production, and the variations between pieces, typical of the artisanal process, make it unique.
