Made using the incalmo technique, the Clessidra Venini is one of the glassworks' most iconic creations, designed by Fulvio Bianconi and Paolo Venini.
Designed by Fulvio Bianconi and Paolo Venini in 1957, the Clessidra Venini is one of the most iconic creations in the history of the glassworks. Two volumes of blown glass come together to hold grains of sand that slowly flow from one form to the other, taking on the colour of the glass and becoming an integral part of the piece.
Each piece is hand-crafted in Italy by the Murano master glassmakers using the incalmo technique, one of the most complex techniques in the Murano glassmaking tradition. The variations between each piece are part of the artisanal process and make every piece unique.
