WATER TOWER ALESSI CONTAINER

Water Tower by Alessi is an 18/10 stainless steel container with a polished finish and dedicated base: a table-top micro-architecture that turns an urban element into a domestic object. Designed by Daniel Libeskind for Officina Alessi, it draws inspiration from American “water tanks”, the rooftop cisterns that dot New York’s skyline.

The container is topped with a pointed lid and supported by a truss-like structure, available in polished steel or black-coated steel. The interior is satin-finished, while the exterior reflects light, emphasising the project’s sculptural character. Versatile by nature, Water Tower can be used as a table service container, a kitchen jar, or a desk organiser.

The design echoes a technical detail of large urban water tanks: the variable spacing of the ribs, tighter near the base where “pressure” is greater. A complex piece to manufacture, combining architectural vision with Alessi’s production expertise.
