Design Olafur Eliasson
Moroso presents Secret Cubic Shelves, a modular bookcase designed by Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The project stems from a decade-long exploration of geometry and three-dimensional assembly, developed in collaboration with architect Einar Thorsteinn. The base module—an elongated rhomboid formed by rotating two cubes along a diagonal axis according to the golden ratio—has appeared in several of the artist’s works, including Less ego wall (Moderna Museet, 2015), Tempo junction (Fondazione Agnelli, 2017), and How to build a sphere out of cubes (Texas A&M University, 2018).
With its essential aesthetic and structure inspired by hidden geometry, the bookcase features open, lightweight modules designed to expand fluidly through space. The result is both functional and sculptural—perfect for contemporary interiors.
Fully made of recycled and recyclable iron with non-toxic powder coating. The solid build and short supply chain help minimize environmental impact. The bookcase is wall-mounted using included brackets and can be connected to additional modules via matching black-finished hardware.
