Design Stefan Scholten
The Tulp armchair by Moroso is inspired by nature—a tribute to the tulip, the iconic flower of the Dutch landscape. The idea came to life after a trip to Indonesia, where the designer observed a garden party from above and was struck by the circular arrangement of chairs around round tables. This image evoked the shape of a blooming flower, leading to the creation of Tulp: a soft, welcoming seat with armrests that open like petals.
Designed for both comfort and sustainability, Tulp features a rigid polyurethane shell combined with flexible polyurethane padding. The absence of metal components inside allows for easy disassembly at the end of its lifecycle, promoting recycling and material recovery.
The Tulp armchair is available with a wooden base, in fixed or swivel version, or with a painted tubular steel structure.
Three base options:
Ash wood

Painted steel
