TÈO ALESSI SPOON

A leaf that becomes a spoon, designed to keep tea bags neatly under control.

The project is inspired by the idea of a curved leaf: a “natural” geometry that distributes material efficiently, as in many real leaves. The area near the stem is more curved to provide rigidity and support, while the tip widens, much like a section shaped to collect water.

With “Tèo”, this logic serves a different purpose: the wider part holds the tea bag during infusion, secured by its string. While steeping, the spoon can also be used to gently move the bag in hot water. When the infusion is complete, before lifting it from the cup, you can lightly squeeze the bag by pulling the string toward the back of the spoon, trapping it between the narrower, funnel-shaped walls of the handle—gently, as the bag is fragile.
